The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy runs classes on Saturdays in Fermoy Community Youth Centre between 11.30am and 1pm.

The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy is a very special place for children with big dreams. The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy classes follow and bring to life the adventures of Angelina Ballerina, a remarkable mouseling who is armed with grace, determination and an unquenchable zest for fun.

Our classes are taught by our specialist instructors who will gently introduce your child to the world of dance and performance, through the fun and endearing Angelina Ballerina stories and music. Angelina Ballerina herself will visit classes once each term and join in our favorite Angelina Ballerina song and dance activities encouraging every child to become a dancing star.

At the Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy we bring the magical stories of the remarkable mouseling Angelina Ballerina and her friends to life through dance, music, mime and play.
Angelina Ballerina is a delightfully stubborn mouseling and star of the hugely popular animation series based on the books by Katharine Holabird and Helen Craig. The series follows the adventures of a remarkable little mouseling who thinks and feels like a little girl, and dreams of one day becoming a prima ballerina. She loves to dance and practice her ‘pirouettes’ and ‘grandes jetées’ with boundless energy and enthusiasm.

However, Angelina can sometimes be a little bit stubborn, which often leads to trouble. But she always bounces back with a giggle and a smile, finding solutions with help from her family and friends. Angelina Ballerina is a magical character who captures the hearts of young children and encourages them to fulfill their dreams.

Classes at the Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy take place once a week and are 30 minutes long. Classes are held in venues throughout Ireland and the UK.

There are two levels of classes:

Angelina Level 1 (for 3- 4.5 year old children)
Angelina Level 2 (for 4.5- 6 year old children)

The total cost of a 10 week course is €100.
The total cost of a 5 week Summer course is €50.

When your child attends their first class you will be asked to pay a €25 non-refundable fee to reserve their place at the Dance Academy.

If your child enjoys their first 2 classes and wishes to continue you will be required to pay the balance of €75 for the remaining 8 classes.

Fees must be paid at the start of each term in full and are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If your child is ill or cannot attend a class, they can take a similar class at the same level at another venue of your choice. However, the maximum number of make-up classes is limited to two per term.

Fermoy Christmas Wonderland

The 2011 Fermoy Christmas Wonderland was officially unveiled in the Fermoy Town Park this week. There was snow falling and the white scene gave a teaser as to what to expect at this years festival.

Speaking at the event, Avondhu Blackwater Partnership CEO Valerie Murphy commented, “Since last years successful festival, we have had so many people coming up to us asking whether it was going ahead this year. We are thrilled to be able to announce that it will. The plan that Franc has shown us is very exciting, the slides are back, the snowman is back and there will be more huts and retail stands. There is more food and crafts this year and most importantly a Polar Express train will take the kids to Santa’s grotto!”

This year’s event will be made more special because of the Golden Ticket competition. Franc was very secretive on the details which will be announced in the coming weeks, but he confirmed the competition will be aimed at national schools and there would be a prize for the winning class. So watch this space!

Valerie continued, “The Fermoy Christmas Wonderland is a drive to position Fermoy on the Christmas map as a destination in itself. By coming here for the event you are also experiencing the wonderful shopping that Fermoy has to offer all year round”.

The Christmas Wonderland is part of an overall tourist drive for North Cork that has seen the emergence of the Mallow Racecourse Racing Home For Easter Festival, the Fermoy River Festival and Fermoy Street Festival as well as the creation of several Tourist Trails across the North of the County, the object of which are all aimed at attracting people of all interests throughout the region and throughout the year, from Easter to Christmas.

The Fermoy Christmas Wonderland will take place from Friday 9th December to Sunday 11th December. Opening times are 5.00pm to 9.00pm Friday night, and12.00pm to 8.00pm Saturday and Sunday.
